Last baby goat born yesterday

Megan decided to have her baby while we were gone yesterday. Deb took her daughter to see the baby goats and baby chicks and called me to tell me about the new kid. Luna (our Great Pyr LGD) decided with Gretchen's kid that she needed to protect the kids from their mothers, and that's exactly what she did with Megan's. Deb moved Megan and kid to the small pen away from Luna and the others so they could settle down and get to know each other. It didn't take long before the kid was nursing and everything was fine.

BTW, it's another buckling...

Second baby goat!

Gretchen had her baby yesterday, and I can almost guarantee that Megan will be having her's TODAY. Of course, it's another buckling...hoping that Megan has a doeling! No pics yet, I'll take some tonight. I think that Luna decided to protect the baby from his own mother, so I moved Gretchen and son into the small pen so they could bond and he could figure out how to nurse from that GIGANTIC udder. This is Gretchen's third kid, and her udder is out of control. He did figure it out and seems fine. Updates to follow...

GOATS!

I finally did it. I finally bought fainting goats. After weeks and months of research, I went shopping all weekend, looking at Nigerian Dwarf goats and myotonic goats. I bought three myotonics, a mom and two of her daughters. I'm going to pick them up next weekend. Phat Horse Farm Fainters?

Chickens and goats!

Last weekend, Katie and I brought home 5 pullets! We think they are Ameraucanas, so we're waiting impatiently for some Easter eggs. Jennifer painted an awesome folk art sign for our ghetto chicken coop made out of a dog house and dog pen. Pics will be posted soon.

I just emailed a farm in McDonough, GA about fainting goats. It's time I finally did it. This farm has the cutest babies ever! Can't wait to go see them. Check them out: http://highfivefarms.com/forsale.aspx
